Herbal Potli / Bolus Lymphatic Circulation Therapy
Kizhi
What It Is
Kizhi uses cloth boluses (potlis) filled with warmed herbs — sometimes rice or medicated powders — pressed and rolled rhythmically over the body with lymphatic circulation technique to deliver heat and herbal benefit directly into the tissue.
Who It's For
Commonly used for muscular stiffness, joint discomfort, and localized discomfort from overuse or chronic conditions.
What to Expect During Your Session
- Boluses are warmed and tested against your therapist's own hand for a safe temperature before touching your skin.
- The boluses are pressed over the treatment area with lymphatic circulation strokes for 30–45 minutes.
- Skin may look slightly flushed afterward — this is expected and settles quickly.
Preparation & Aftercare
Wear or bring comfortable clothing. Showers aren't available on-site, so plan to keep the oil on for a few hours and shower once home.
Contraindications
Not recommended over broken skin, active inflammation, or areas with reduced sensation — tell your therapist about any skin conditions.
